    Hi Georgina!

Just a note to let you know that I used your beautiful “Hank” flour in our Thanksgiving dinner rolls. We absolutely loved the crumb and flavor of the wheat and are thrilled that we were able to incorporate your flour in our local harvest celebration! I look forward to purchasing more! Can you tell me, is there a flour that you grow that you could recommend for cakes?

    Thank you,

    • i’m so glad your rolls turned out with the hank wheat. a friend made the most delicious chocolate cake with the kamut flour. i think any of our flours work well in cakes, generally. one can always combine our flour with your regular choice flour for cakes. i recommend experimenting, and then continuing to give me feedback please, about how your cakes turn out. i mention the kamut just because it has a sweet, buttery flavor. enjoy and thank you!

I will place my order with Rosehip for the Kamut then! I have never baked with it, but what’s better than a sweet, buttery flour? Let the experiments begin!

Thank you for growing your wheat on Whidbey!

    Happy Holidays,

    Hi Georgina!

We are recent transplants from Whidbey Island … and now live in Belgium. We just settled in, and I have to say one of the major things we are missing is our cracked kamut hot cereal in the morning! My boys (ages 8,6, and 4) – are constantly asking if we’ll be able to have ‘our’ cereal today, mom? So, on that note – would you think it would be possible to send us some stores of cracked kamut, as well as some flours and barley? We do have an APO address – so a priority USPS box will be received, if that is helpful. Although I feel a little guilty about abandoning my usual ‘buying local’ attitude for these tastes of our last home … I know we should so enjoy keeping your wonderful grains in our cupboard if possible! Thanks!

    • ALison,

Best to be in touch through my email:

I would be happy to send you a grain shipment, assuming it will make it through customs okay, and that you pay the full shipping costs. I have not sent whole seed to Europe before, but the cracked and flour products have arrived with no issue (my family is in Wales). It’s a real compliment to know your boys like the cereal, it really is very nutritious, so good for them! Please be in touch about the details through the email. We are coming to the end of the barley, so you are just in time for that!

      Thank you,
